Things to do in London for couples

Ahoy! My husband and I are traveling to London so I can present at a conference. Neither of us have been and want to maximize our short time there (5 full days). We have a London Pass and Travel Card so do plan on visiting all the "must-see" historical sites around central London, but would love to learn of any pubs, restaurants, or experiences that others found worthwhile.

As a side note: we're a SINK (single-income, no kids) couple as of right now and being childfree means that we still get to travel to places like London!

One thing that we did in London that we loved were the walking tours. A great way to get out and hear about the history that you otherwise would not hear, all the stories of the kings and queens are very cool. There are some free ones. http://www.newlondon-tours.com/

Hi Sarah! We will be there the week post-Olympics (August 13-18). If you are in town, we'd love to meet up!

I live on the arse end of the Metropolitan Underground Line (The Tube) - so go into London now and again - an hour's journey. I highly reccommend walking along the Thames from South Bank (National Theatre) - down to The Globe.
Over the Millenium Bridge (opp the Tate Modern - worth a look - and the art is crazy but free) - over to St Pauls. Pub with a view of the river - The Anchor - in Southwark - near The Clink museum - the real London Dungeons experience. Borough Market .... if you like Bridget Jones - check out the The Globe Pub next door --- she lived above it in the movie. Views of the skyline at Dusk .... venture up to Primrose Hill. Nice Plaque to tell you what you are looking at. If parks are your thing .... keep going down hill to Regents Park. Hyde Park is vast - but a good walk to Royal Albert Hall, National History Museum. Kensington Gardens. For the weird and off the beaten track - check out the Not For Tourists website - there is a book on London available and plenty on their website - insider tips, etc - to fill your 5 days. Have a great time in our Capital... it's not all foggy, Dickensian and Jack-the-Ripper ... it's cool, urban, , historic and chic ... you'll love it!

Turn up and eat in a nice place for less cha ching...

Valid til sept 9th for lunch and dinner... but check terms and conditions .
